Difference Between - "Forecast" & "Trend"

Do you know the difference between Forecast & Trend functions? Please share your ideas in the below comments section. 

Let me explain the general meaning first:

Forecast: It is something which assumes for future. The expectations of future numbers in terms of company's growth can be called as Forecast.


Trend: It is something which represents for current day. Say the trend of the youth in today's generation is carrying Android Mobiles.

Get Distinct Count with Formulas


Hi there, is a retail shopping cart for who loves to shop and get their stuff to doorstep.

I have a simple formula which gives a sum of distinct names in a list. Which means, unique names in a list. To get into that formula let's take an example when this function is required or useful.

Recently, I have started an e-commerce website by name here I have few sales representatives who sell my products to the retail shops.

Now, the sales reps are countable.

Let's say the number of retailers has been increased to 50 or 100 times from now. Is it easy for me to maintain with the current sales representatives.

Today, I am forced to learn about a new function in excel. Basically, it is not new but very few will know/use this function. The function name is EVALUATE. This is basically a macro function which is available in Excel 4.0 version. You can also see an alternative functions like this in my previous posts, in List FileNames in a Folder and Count Worksheets in a Workbook

EVALUATE function have a flavour of INDEX function. Not exactly but just a flavour. This function works in macro enabled workbooks only. Let's see why we use and how to utilize this function on our requirements on day-to-day excel works.



Sometimes, when we write a formula and to display it to the audience to know which formula we have used we will add ' (single apostrophe) in the start of the formula. So that it will not show the results but display the complete formula. Say, we have few calculations mentioned in a cell without giving = (is equal to) symbol, like
