Prepare a Gantt Before Sipping a Tea
chartsHi there,
Now-a-days the climate has drastically changed and the temperature is dropping on day-to-day. So, here is a Gantt for you who can be prepared before having a cup of Coffee or Tea. Per my health condition, I should have only TEA, so, before having a cup of tea I have prepared this Gantt. How About You? ;) Take a try.
In the previous post, we have learnt about When, How & Why prepare Gantt Charts. Here we will see the pictorial demonstration of preparing a Gantt with some fictitious data.
Let's Start:
Arrange a fictitious data like below:
...
Firstly,
- Select the chart type - Stacked Bar Chart
- Select the Planned Series (on the chart) and
- Right Click and select "Format Data Series" and
- Select to change Fill to "No Fill" & Border Color to " No Line"
- Click on Close (window)
Secondly,
- Remove the Legend placed on the right corner of the chart just by selecting and pressing DELETE button
- Right click on the Planned Series and choose "Add Data Labels"
- Now, right click again and choose "Format Data Labels" to change the Data Labels from "Value" to "Category Name"
- In the same window, Change the Label Position to "Inside End"
- Now, Reverse the y-axis categories to make our chart look like Gantt
- Then, delete the y-axis
Thirdly,
- Format the axis by selecting Major Unit to 4
- Format the grid lines color to Solid line and change Transparency to 75%
- Format the axis line color to "No Line"
- Format the axis options Maximum to "16"
In addition, change the Plot area color if you still have time like I did here (White, Background 1, Darker 15%).
That's it. Magic Works!!!
