What is the difference between a Link and an Object?
excel_usage, Excel Tips, Difference betweenHi there,
Here is the question which was asked by one of my trainee and I felt to share the same with you because YOU are my asset.
LINK:
A link is a relation between two things or situations, especially where one effects the other.
This is the definition taken from GOOGLE.
...
What it means is, Say you want to link a cell A1 of Sheet 1 to cell A1 of Sheet 2. Which means what ever the cell A1 in sheet 2 contains the same will reflect in cell A1 of Sheet 1. Or, otherwise, to move from one place to another with out much activity (short cut method) is called a link.
This contains only one activity called LINK.
Eg: Link to particular path gives like this:
C:\Users\Abhilash\Desktop\Training\Excel Training
OBJECT:
An object is some thing which contains a link and an image. This combination of link and an Image comes as an object in Excel.
This is mostly used in the outlook mails in the corporate companies who use Ms Outlook as their e-mail conversation.
This looks like this for the above same path.
The above image contains a link and an image. This combination will call it as an Object in Excel.
So, now you understand the difference between a link and an Object.
Great! Keep Excelling!!!
The path to find Object feature in Excel is INSERT ribbon and Object in Text Group.
DO YOU USE OBJECT?
