This add-in is inbuilt in Office Professional Plus 2013 and Office 365 editions.
ABOUT POWERPIVOT:
PowerPivot is able to import and relate large amounts of data from multiple sources. This doesn't have an additional add-in for Data Modeling because PowerPivot by default links the data with Data Modeling. It has an ability to create relationships between data from different sources and between multiple tables in pivot tables.
The powerpivot will store the data inside the Excel sheet so that it can be portable easily and conviniently. The processing speed is also fast when compared to Excel, this is due to xVelocity functionality in the PowerPivot.
ADVANCED DATA MODELING BENEFITS:
PowerPivot Filters the data from the export based on removing the unnecessary fields (which can also be called as subset)
PowerPivot, can rename tables and columns as you import.
Managing Data Model and Creating Relationships using drag and drop.
We can Define our own Calculated fields throughout the workbook
We can Define Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) to use in pivot table.
We can use Advanced Formulas that uses the Data Analysis eXpressions (DAX) language.
ADVANCED MODE IS BY-DEFAULT:
In Excel 2013, when you click "Manage" to go to the powerpiovt window, by dafult Advanced Tab will include here.
Note: To hide Advanced Tab, click to File Button in Home Ribbon by clicking on "Switch to Normal Mode".
