Today, we will know about
- What is Volatile and its definition?
- How it is related to Excel? (If at all related)
- How many Volatile functions are available in Excel?
Volatile Meaning and its Definition: Volatile is
"easily evaporated" in terms of Chemistry or
"content will be erased if the power switch-offs the computer" in terms of Computer memory or
"readily vaporizable at relatively low temperature and so on...
...
These definitions are depends on the different categories.
However, in terms of Excel,
Volatile is nothing but changing the value of the cell if user refresh the worksheet (keyboard shortcut is Shift + F9) or workbook (keyboard shortcut is F9)
in other words
the cell contains volatile function will recalculate the value every time when the worksheet or workbook gets refreshed.
There are few functions which acts like a VOLATILE in Excel are called VOLATILE FUNCTIONS.

The value will change for every refresh
- OFFSET()
- INFO()
- INDEX()
